TREASURE COVE - Looking for love in all the wrong virtual places? A new three part series has the Soul Utions (solutions). It begins tonight and is entitled “SL and Beyond: Friendship, Romance and Other Forms of Networking in a Virtual Environment.” The presentation will occur at 7 pm SLT at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Treasure%20Cove/128/96/37

Dr. Grascious Streeter, a real life psychologist, will be presenting all three sessions in voice. Streeter will take questions in advance by IM. The lecture is free but tips are appreciated.

Streeter will examine the history of net relationships from the beginning with bulletin board systems in the 1970s and 1980 to chat rooms and then to the use of fantasy and avatars in current virtual worlds. She will explore ethics in relating to one another. Special populations and their use of SL and virtual worlds will be explored. The series will also touch on the implications of the current definition of monogamy and whether to take your SL relationship to your first life.
