MUINSTOWN – Second Life residents are finding out that buying linden
dollars from third-party linden exchange dealers isn’t worth the wait
nor the possible risk.
PlayerStation promises fast, private delivery of linden dollars to
Second Life residents. Playerstation sells linden dollars at an
exchange rate from L$277 to 303 to the USD in amounts ranging from
L$5,000L to L$100,000. If the linden dollar amount is “in stock,” the
company’s website promises one hour delivery.

However, some Second Life residents who bought lindens from
PlayerStation found that the company can’t deliver linden dollars in
the time it promises and are suspect of the company’s methods.
Customers order linden dollars online at the company’s website.
Residents are then told to go to a location in-world and rez a number
of boxes with differing linden dollar values. Over a period of time,
from hours to days, representatives from the company come and buy these
boxes over and over, paying the customers their linden dollars. At the
time of this writing, boxes valuing more than L$41,000 were awaiting
Playerstation company representatives to come and purchase them.
Since
most of boxes will be purchased multiple times, it is not possible to
say how many linden dollars are awaiting delivery.
For instance, an Italian woman has one box worth L$2,000 on the floor
of the Playerstation delivery site. When she came by to check it on
Tuesday, she said she ordered L$10,000 and had received L$8,000 so far.
She said she made her order the day before and had the impression it
would be delivered within the hour.
“I hope to receive all the money I ordered, but it's very slow,” the
woman said. “I guess that I have just to wait ... can't do more.”
She said she has bought linden dollars through Italian sims in the
past, but the exchange rate was very expensive. She said she found the
Playerstation through the Internet. “I didn't know exactly what it was
because they have the ‘SL’
